2012 british open

The IKKU senior squad travelled to compete in the British open at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow on October 6th. Six female and three male athletes attended the two day event which had over 1200 competitors, and once again the squad proved that the hard work over the last year has paid off.

This year we had one athlete in the disability section Keith Nulty from the Larkhill dojo gave a fine performance in the Kata section. This was Keiths first major international event and he was delighted to be the first Larkhill athlete to represent the IKKU at international level.

Some of the more experienced athletes took medals with Ronan Flynn taking silver in the 84kg division while Emily Geraghty took silver in the ladies 61kg section.

Cormac Collins and Casey May Stanley took bronze in their weight divisions.

Well done to all the athletes and club coaches who attended and supported the athletes over the last year.
